How long after eating gluten do you react?

How long after eating gluten do you react?

I am wondering how long after accidentally eating gluten would the body react. Thanks

That's a tough one to answer. I think some of us are much more reactive then others.

I don't know if there's a standard answer to this question, but I can tell you what my reaction time was when I had a gluten accident awhile back. Ingested it at dinner, had loud gurgles starting around bedtime, more gurgles, pain and bloating throughout the night, and then diarrhea for the next four days starting the following morning.

I'm pretty sure I react right away. It is usually after eating in a restaurant and, within about 15 minutes after eating, I'm heading to the bathroom.

The last time I was accidentally glutened, I ate something about 6:00pm, and in about 12 hours the symptoms were there, good and strong. I felt rough before that, but the actual symptoms (diarrhea all day and a 'gluten headache' that lasted 3 days).
