what else to cut out?
I know everyone is different, but what foods BESIDES gluten, dairy, soy and eggs bother you. I have cut those out for three months and had a stint where I went off the endocort for three days because I couldn't get a refill and had complete relapse of symptoms over those days..so what else bothers you and have you cut out..I need ideas where to start...thanks

You might try eliminating a few more of the most common allergens - here is one list:

I was just getting ready to do a very restrictive elimination diet 3-5 foods but decided to try the enterolab testing first. I'll post results when I get them.

The main things I cut out at the beginning ( besides the big 4) was anything spicy, coffee and tea, nightshades ( potato, tomato, peppers, eggplant), RAW fruits and veggies, salad, beans and legumes. All of these things can be very hard on an inflamed intestine and will prevent healing. The good news is that I have been able to add things back in since :) Don't forget that Entocort must be tapered very slowly. Your reaction is most likely because you "cold turkey" stopped the Entocort.

I agree with Leah. The food I had the most difficulty with (other than the big 4) was tomato sauce. I am just beginning to have a small amount every couple of weeks. Beans are still out of the question, as are raw veggies. Healing is slow.
For a little while you might want to have just meat, rice and very well cooked veggies, just to get things back under control. It is hard to stop entocort.

Rachel,
You seem to be on the right track. You may just need more healing time (for most of us, 3 months is not near enough healing time). And as Leah pointed out, stopping Entocort abruptly is also pro-inflammatory, so that combination may have triggered the prompt relapse.
In addition to the foods that the others have mentioned as possible problems, moderate (or larger) amounts of fiber, and virtually all artificial sweeteners cause most of us to react. In addition to minimizing fiber in our diet, most of us also have to minimize sugar, even natural sugars, because an inflamed gut does not produce adequate amounts of enzymes, especially those that are used by the digestive system to split most common sugar molecules.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I have been tapering off entocort since spring of 2012. I don't know if i will ever be able to totally eliminate it, but i will keep trying. I can go 4-5 days between 3mg and i seem to be ok. The nurses keep telling me that they can't enter that dosage into my records because it doesn't exist. I shrug my shoulders. Whats new? One more thing they don't get because it isn't in their book.
Looking back, that was probably my biggest mistake- I always rushed it.
