Colonsocopy

Post by Vandolyn »

Well, December was my 5 year colonoscopy time. I could not get into see the doctor before it happened. So, when I get on that table, I am adamant about not being put to sleep until I talked to the doctor. I was armed with my Enterolab results and had planned on taking a "Tex" book. (The ice stopped the delivery on the book.) I ask him if he knew about Dr. Fine and Enterolab. He said "no" but some of his partners had gone to school with Dr. Fine. I said to him - you and your partners need to get into your car and drive to Dallas and visit his lab. Had you told me about this in 2008 when I was diagnosed, I would really be on on my way to healing.

I had no polyps and he told me I did not have to return for 10 years. My husband swears it is because I chewed on him! Days later I got the call and needless to say, I still have LC. The instructions were to continue the gluten free diet. Ha, Ha, do you think I am a dummy?

Praise The Lord, I am still in remission and remained that way throughout Christmas. I owe that to Tex's book and Enterolab.

I do have the books now and will drop one off at his office. He really is a nice doctor but darn, I want him to get educated about this MC. My life would have been so different.

Hope everyone has a great New Year.

We do have to take our health into our own hands, and no matter what, not be satisfied with being placated by our physicians!

Good for you! Glad you are continuing to do well. I have had 2 colonoscopies and I'm only 46. No polyps on either one. When my GI suggested that I have another when I turn 50, I said no thanks, I'll wait the 10 years. She was flabbergasted to say the least but agreed with me, in the end!

I wasted four years not knowing what to do. I did a lot of damage during that time so I too wonder what things would have been like had my GI been up to speed on how to treat MC. It was also during this time that I unknowingly relied heavily on soy thinking I was being healthy. That certainly didn't help my undiagnosed hashimotos. Good for you for saying what's on your mind!
