Hello,

I was doing so well, and then several things happened at once. I had been coughing for over a month and trying to get rid of it without antibiotics. I finally had to give in, and after much conversation with my doctor, we agreed on the Z-pak. I upped my Lialda back to 2 pills a day, incase the antibiotic bothered me. So, now I am still coughing(day 7), I have D, and pain. To complicate things, I was visiting my daughters over the weekend, and ate out and think I may have been glutened. We ate at a celiac recommended restaurant, and they said to use the special packet soy sauce, and ask them to cook GF. The restaurant people were so nice and helpful. All seemed OK till the next day. Then I looked at a packet of sauce, that I took home, and one of the ingredients was "stabilizers". hmmmm!!

I am not sure which is the culprit in this, but I am waiting for the storm to pass. LC is having it's own little party which is now in it's 4th day.

If I took a z-pak, I would take probiotics. Azithromycin is hard on gut flora.

I'm sorry Lori. It sucks to be between a rock and a hard place. Sometimes we have to take an antibiotic--what else can you do?

I hope it resolves soon. take care, stay hydrated and rest up.
