water from my legs

Post by janet »

HELLO FRIENDS, TWO NIGHTS AGO WHILE SITTING ON OUR SOFA, FELT MY PJ LEGS WET, CHECKED OUT EVERYTHING, COULDNT FIND WHERE THE WATER WAS COMING FROM.
SAME THING AGAIN LAST NIGHT, MY PJ LEGS SOAKING WET.
TODAY WENT TO SEE MY DR. WHO GAVE ME A PRESCRIPTION FOR A DURETIC, SHALL START TOMORROW. TAKING ONE EACH MORNING
HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFORE.
ANOTHER SIDE EFFECT OF ENTOCORT?
THANKYOU FOR TAKING TIME TO READ THIS PROBLEM. REGARDS MARIE

Entocort never did anything like that to me. What did the doctor say it is?

It does not sound like a side effect of Entocort. A diuretic sounds like a good idea. Some doctors also advise elevating the legs a few times per day. Do you have a recliner or another way of putting you legs up once in a while? Your doctor will likely want to do some follow-up tests. We sometimes complain about doctors but there are some things that "medicine" is good at. MC is not usually one of those things but for things like wet legs, maybe yes.
If you are starting a diuretic this morning, I will give one word of advice: Don't stray too far from a bathroom. You might be surprised at how much you pee, especially in the first 24 hours!

I WILL GET ANOTHER DR APPOINTMENT TO SEE IF THERE IS SOME OTHER WAY I CAN MEDICATE MYSELF.I AM ELEVATING MY LEGS FROM TIME TO TIME, AND THE WATER HAS STOPPED, NOW I NOTICE A SMALL LESION ON MY SHIN.

THANKYOU ONCE AGAIN

Janet,
I have seen this in people with severe water retention, but it usually causes edema. Are your legs swollen any place?

The edema and oozing you are experiencing can make the skin very thin and delicate. The slightest touch can cause a bruise, a lesion. However, if this looks suspect in any way let a professional see it.

Feel better.

Hi Marie,
I agree with Leslie that you should monitor the lesion on your shin to be sure it's healing and let a health professional know if it looks worse in any way - warm in the area, increased redness, swelling, oozing stuff, ect.
If you feel dizzy, you should be especially careful to stand up slowly after lying or sitting and when getting off the toilet. Has the dizziness passed now? How is your breathing? Can you take a deep breath pretty well?
Can you eat bananas? They have lots of potassium and potassium can be good after peeing your brains out

Feel better :rose:

HE RECOMMENDED THAT I APPLY POLYSPORIN AND A BAND AID TO THE WOUND, FINGERS CROSSED THAT THIS WORKS.
I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT FROM MY SISTER THAT MY MOTHER HAD EXACTLY THE SAME, THAT WAS OVER 25 YEARS AGO. I REMEMBER THAT HER LEGS WERE VERY SWOLLEN.

Excellent news, Marie! We all like to hear good news!
Did your doctor tell you to call him if your legs get watery again or has he scheduled another appointment for you to check in with him after a while? When a person notices that they have watery legs, they should call the doctor.

I'm glad you are better :barbell:
