Many of us take these supplements for joint support.
Has anyone reacted to any of these ingredients?
I've started taking them over a month ago and my joints felt wonderful immediately. However, I've had a flare-up this last month and I am wondering if they are the culprits. I have stopped taking them -- trying to identify the problem.
Thank you! Please chime in!
Regards,
Monique

Glucosamine/chondroitin + MSM: Good or Bad?
Diagnosed 2011 with LC. Currently on Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
Hi Monique,
I'm sure you have, but did you check with the manufacturer to find out what the inert ingredients are in the prep? Over the years, I have seen so many people here react to herbs, supplements and other OTC products, that my usual advice is to take NOTHING other than what you absolutely need to stay alive! LOL!
Love,
Polly

the optimist's assessment
Hi Polly,
I think you hit on it: glucosamine/chondroitin is made of shellfish, crustaceans. I stopped eating shellfish when I was diagnosed knowing that they are laden with histamine. I never tested to see if I react but this might be it. MSM is methylsulphur. Too much histamine gives me nausea and sickness and that's what I had.
Thanks, Polly, M.D (stands for Medical Detective)
