I emailed Jenni-O to ask about the natural flavors. They promptly replied that it was rosemary. I am always skeptical because you never know who is responding and if they know what they're talking about. I decided to give it a try because I wanted something new for meat. I've had no problems with that brand. I've tried the ground turkey burger. It's pretty bland but for me, that's ok. I've tried other brands but found the flavors unfavorable. Jenni-O has my vote.

I eat turkey, chicken, salmon(fresh), and pork. Mostly turkey. For veggies I eat the squashes - yellow, zucchini, acorn, and some butternut. I also eat some bananas and some avocado. About the canned salmon... I used to eat some canned salmon but a few years ago I noticed that our beloved golden retriever Prince would love to eat the fresh salmon scraps but would not touch canned salmon in any way. That made me wonder about canned salmon. I don't eat it now.

I wish I could give paleo a try though I'm not much of a meat fan. However, I don't tolerate eggs, beef (even free range organic), and some turkey probably due to histamines. I react to sweet potato, white potato, carrots, parsnips and winter squash too, perhaps because of high oxalates. It doesn't leave many options for carbs. Luckily I tolerate rice in moderation, low oxalate veggies and apples.

Hi nsaidcolitis,
As you move forward, you will find that we are all different but most commonly have a problem with gluten. Some of us have a palio diet but others, such as myself, do not eat nuts at all. Meat works well for many of us. Chicken sometimes gives me GERD. Other meats work great for me. Eight months post-diagnosis, I'm still limiting my fruits and veggies and I don't eat citrus, peels, or raw fruits and veggies except bananas, avocado, and very small amounts of fresh tomato. Sweet potato seems to go well for many of us early on.

My diet:

Breakfast: bread that I make with 1/2 banana and 1/2 cup of organic applesauce, millet flour, tapioca flour, bicarb of soda, a little salt, water.

two servings (palm size) 1 at noon and another at 5pm of pork which I cook in the slow cooker for 3 hours

More bread when hungry.

I am so hungry and losing weight so I am trying to figure out what to add to my diet, but am afraid. I can't seem to tolerate fats/oils which would help with the calories and hunger.
