Apparently some of the euphoria one feels after being in a hot tub can be attributed to the release of thyroxine in the body. I wonder if we could skew our lab results by whether we have just come in from the freezing cold or the sweltering heat?The thyroid hormone thyroxine, which controls our day-to-day activity and was previously believed to remain at a constant level in the blood, actually fluctuates as a result of a protein which modifies the release of the hormone depending on body temperature, new research reveals.
