A ham delivered to the house today that looks fine!!!

Hi all,

Has anyone ever heard of a company called "Clifty Farm Country Ham?"
I was sooo amazed when one came today cause I can't find a single allergen of mine in either the glaze packet or the ham itself.

According to celiac materials, people who only have reactions to gluten can eat alotta store bought brands if they leave off the glaze, but I won't hafta leave off this one! Yeah!

Apparently, the only thing that I usually buy things without that it has in it is the nitrates. (Think about it -- like nitroglycerin!) Think since I'm not getting any other nitrates in my diet nowadays, that as long as I don't eat but a small amount at a time, that, considering I'll hafta share it, shouldn't be much of a problem. About the fat content, we won't even go there, ok. Expect to find a soup bone in there someplace one of these days!

OK, anyone ever hear of this company? Address is Tenn., but seems like earlier today I read something about Kentucky in the literature that came with it. Will hafta take the time to read that soon. May just hafta write Geri to ask her if she's familiar with this company for geographical reasons.
Perhaps she'll see this first.

These things will last a long time if one follows the instructions. This is the first one I've been able to find that doesn't seem to have some form of dairy in it. Will let you know how delicious it is later, ok. Had to cook up something I'd already thawed out a while, so whenever that's gone, will open the seal to sample the ham.

I'm sooo impressed that this friend was able to find one I could eat. Hopefully, I'll find what detective technique she used soon! Ha!
My sister told me that she HAD seen a ham at Whole Foods that had none of our allergens, so probably it also didn't have nitrates as many of there's don't. Sometimes things have been bought up, so since I frequently don't get there til end of the weekend, no telling what I miss out on knowing is there. Probably a good thing, too!
