found a generic Entocort

Post by Nancy »

I have ordered a generic Entocort from AllDayChemist for a very reasonable price. I had been on Entocort for 2 months using samples from my GI doctor. I relapsed about 3 weeks after stopping. Sounds like they are unwilling or unable to continue me with samples so I started looking for help. I think I came across All Day Chemist on this forum. The doctor said I should go for it and wants me at 9mg for one month, 6 mg for 1 month and 3 mg for one month. I don't need a doctor's prescription for this so I guess I can always get more if I need it. Would this be your recommendation for tapering off Entocort as well or does one play it as you go along. Also is anyone using this generic, Budez CR and is it as effective as Entocort? I did amazing well on Entocort.

Hi Nancy,

Many members have ordered that product and posted that it seems to work just as well as the name brand product (or the generic products) sold in this country for an outrageous amount of money.

Most members find that when they get down to 1 capsule per day or less, the slower they taper off budesonide, the better their chances of remaining in remission after the medication is completely discontinued. For example, many use 1 capsule per day for several weeks or more, then 1 every third day for several weeks or more, then 1 every fourth day for several weeks or more, etc. This extremely slow withdrawal allows the body to better adjust to doing without the medication, and it maximizes the chances of maintaining remission.

Good luck with your treatment.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
