Ultra Inflam X 360 Plus by Metagenics Medical Food

Post by drdebc »

My Holistic MD prescribed this for me in order to heal the inflammation of my microscopic colitis. I am also taking Allegra and Benedryl. After being on Ultra Inflam for 7 days, my D is manageable-4 X day and I don't have to run to the potty! Every day, it gets better. Plus I now have energy! For me, this is a miracle. The cost is $69.95. I checked online and I note the price I paid is the same as online. A prescription is not required to order it. I don't know if it will help you. However, it is working wonders for me. A booklet came with the Ultra Inflam. Beginning tomorrow and for the next 2 weeks, I am to double the amount of these liquid vitamins and minerals. This is a 30 day regimen. I do not know if I will be required to take it beyond 30 days. This is a powdered vitamin and mineral mix (orange flavored) that one mixes with water and drinks twice daily.

I will also be taking Ultraflora by Metagenics (it is out of stock) and Diagnostic Studies: GI effects profile from Genova (it is out of stock).

I have spent a small fortune in the past on vitamins, minerals that simply did nothing. I pass this information on to you, in the hopes that it will assist you.

Here is the website for Metagenics: http://www.metagenics.com/
Here is my MD's website: http://drlibert.org/ (she has a free newsletter and she does do telephone consultations)

Been there done that for over 30 years. My greatest fear is that I will be old and unable to attend to my D. I now have hope that I will be able to nix this. (Diet is a big part of my recovery) My prayer for you is a quick recovery.

Best Wishes and God bless you,

Dr. Deb

I took this several years ago and remember I tolerated it well. I still had a parasite infection so it didn't solve my problems. Do you know what the difference between the reg. Inflam x and the 360+ is - I don't see it?

Hello Janr

Post by drdebc »

My MD is also doing a stool study. No results yet. I do not know the difference in the two meds. I just know that the one I am taking has REALLY made a difference. I am no longer tired and sad. Plus I have started to lose weight which I need to do.
I will post more as I learn more.

Dr. Deb, just wondering how you are doing on the Ultra inflam a couple weeks down the road. I just started taking a 1/2 dose today so we'll see what happens. I opted for the original (not 360) which I think suites me better. Fingers crossed...

Update Holistic Treatment for Microscopic Colitis

Post by drdebc »

Hi Janr,

Thanks so much for thinking about my progress. I almost posted on here because I have been D free for over 2 weeks! I go into remission every now and then so this might just be remission. (I planned to post after a month on it) I started taking Ultra Inflam X Medical Food on Feb 10. I started feeling better after a few days. It took about 10 days for the D to go bye bye. I am now beginning my second can. This time I switched from orange to Natural Pineapple Banana flavor. Unlike most of you on here, I need to lose about 20 lbs. I was originally concerned since the one serving a day has 210 calories. However, low and behold, I have lost 5 lbs with no diet changes! My MD also prescribes what you are taking for other patients.

The stool test she conducted is through a lab called Metametrix. I was required to complete a lengthy questionnaire with its submission. It is not the normal one. It involved 3 different sample vials in addition to the regular cup. It cost $99 (not reimbursable by insurance). So I sure hope it reveals something! I go back on March 17 to get the urine, blood and stool results.

In addition to the Ultra Inflam X Medical Food, I am taking UltraFlora Balance Probiotics, two per day (which is twice the normal dosage) and CoQ10 ST-10, one per day.

My current BP med is 50 of Losartan Potassium. I was taking 25 and that was not enough. I am to take my BP X3 daily for a week. She will determine if that is what I need to take.

I am no longer so tired and sad and D ridden. This is amazing! Keep your fingers crossed for me too. I will report back after my March test results.

I am crossing my fingers for you.

Day 1 is not so good for me. Did you have any initial upset? I am having moderate cramping/gas :( even on 1/2 dose.

YES I DID

Post by drdebc »

At the beginning, I questioned this as I had D shortly after drinking it. After about a week, I thought WOW something is going well. I now sit in the bathroom long enough to see potential cob webs and to think about re-painting the walls. Before, I was lucky to get there in time. I was out of the bathroom so fast!

Please note: the change might also be attributed to the heavy duty probiotics.

Hang in there and give it a chance,
