Send help ......................anyone out there

Post by Camie »

I can't take any thing more. System overload. I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry to be a foul weathered friend. I have lost nine pounds int he last few months. This is directly related to my husband being fired from his job on Nov1. Everything is wrong. My hemoglobin dropped from 16 to14. Normal range but where is the bleeding Dental problems which is my biggest fear in the world. No dental insurance . Poor health insurance. Anxiety ...well I can't eat. Anxiety...well on my way to the bathroom and I am on my way to the bathroom again...and again. No relief in site. Is it wrong to wish for a fatal accident

Hi Cami, I'm reaching out to say "hi" and 'we are here'. I'm not sure I have an MC advice for you. The stress and health issues become a vicious cycle. Have you been able to take budesonide (Entocort)? That is about the only course I can think of that will actually address the inflammation immediately. I don't know if an anti-anxiety med would be helpful or not given that it's hard for us MCers to take other meds.

I am truly sorry that your husband is still unemployed. That is a gigantic stressor. Will any additional training help make him more marketable? These are very tough times economically and knowing which way the job markets will turn is a mystery. It seems only jobs in health care and possibly technology are growing. In your situation I would be totally lost. Your anxiety is understandable.

All you can do is your best at taking care of yourself. Don't give up on your MC plan. You need energy to cope better and to problem solve. Try to find a time to relax, meditate, read, to give your anxious mind a break. Do whatever gets you centered. Go with a liquid and soft diet to rest your gut.

Keep in touch, you have friends here.
Carol

Has he tried www.indeed.com ?

Since I found out about the anti-anxiety meds causing dementia, I've been using them very infrequently and using spray magnesium instead.

Camie,

Do you have a friend to talk to? Sometimes, when we are at a place of desperation, we think wish for an accident to make it all go away fast. I understand your feelings.

I was 92 lbs. (I'm 5'2") at my lowest, and could not keep anything from going straight through me. I could not go anyplace, and was up day and night. I can not take any supplements or even tolerate bone broth. I'm slowly improving with an extremely strict diet. I do not cheat, ever. And I rest a lot. I have finally begun to gain some weight and am up to 105, I've been 100 for the past 8 months.

The most difficult thing for us to do is to try to take it one day at a time. We want to see the results of all our efforts in a reasonable amount of time, and when it doesn't happen, we panic. Stress is your biggest enemy right now. Have you considered gov't assistance to help until you guys get on your feet again?

What is the bleeding dental issue you referred to?
Linda :)

Camie,
Sorry to hear this. That is alot on your plate. I had a couple of weeks where I had alot of meltdowns and as frustrating as they were sometimes a good cry is what I need. Hang in there.

Camie,
I understand you so well. I wish I could do more than tell you to hang in there, and that it will get better. This is an awful, insidious disease that can sap you of energy.
I understand the anxiety around your husband's unemployment. My son has been unemployed for a year, and the anxiety is driving me crazy. It's super scary, and there is no help in sight. At least for us.
All I can say is hang in there. Adam is working hard to find some employment. I will cross everything for you guys. You do the same for us. :shakehands:

Hi Camie, For starters, can you tolerate meat? If so, eat lots of meat. Have bacon too. It's filling and it tastes good. Focus on meat as much as you can. Can you eat sweet potatoes? Many of us tolerate them as an early food. I'll bet the bathroom situation will slow down. Are you drinking enough water?
Do you know how to meditate to calm your mind and your anxiety? I bet you could find instruction on YouTube. Maybe working on the basic first step of self preservation will allow you to move forward another step in deciding how to proceed on other issues. I recommend that you get very basic and start over. Eat lots of meat and a little sweet potato. Meditate. Calm your mind. Block out a few days if you can where you don't focus on fixing problems. Meditate and eat foods that will calm your MC.

I'll be looking for you on the Board

Cami, here are some guided meditations from UCLA. I've listened to a couple of them and thought they were good. I want to eventually try them all.

Camie, there have been times when I have been overwhelmed with situations in my life, and have felt helpless and hopeless. It has always helped me to have an objective third party help to sort things out. In my case, I have chosen a therapist, but it could just as well be a trusted friend, a minister, or town social worker. I sometimes think, here in America, we have a mistaken idea that if we ask for help we are weak. Not true. You can only bear a burden by yourself for so long.

I feel awful just reading your post Cami and I wish I had something to add that everyone hasn't already said. Stress is such a huge factor with this disease. DJ is rich on target about the meat. Try some nice fatty meats and not much else and see if things don't calm down.
I will also be looking to see if things get better for you. Keep us posted.
