For Anyone Who Is A Banana Bread Fan

Post by tex »

Hi All,

Many of us seem to be fans of banana bread. Most of us who have ever used King Arthur Flour Company's flour or any of their mixes (I love their pancake mix), recognizes these products as some of the best available for people who have food sensitivities. A GF Banana Bread Mix is now available, that's also free of dairy and soy. Here's the ingredient list:
INGREDIENTS:

SUGAR, BROWN RICE FLOUR, DRIED
BANANA, POTATO STARCH, CELLULOSE, CORN STARCH,
TAPIOCA STARCH, BAKING POWDER (SODIUM ACID
PYROPHOSPHATE, SODIUM BICARBONATE, CORNSTARCH,
MONOCALCIUM PHOSPHATE), MOLASSES (MOLASSES,
MALTODEXTRIN), NATURAL FLAVOR, SALT, VITAMIN AND
MINERAL BLEND [CALCIUM CARBONATE, NIACINAMIDE
(VITAMIN B3), REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE
(VITAMIN B1), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2)], XANTHAN GUM
And this is also produced in a dedicated gluten-free manufacturing facility.

Tex,

Where is the banana? You have to add it?

Hi Monique,

The third ingredient is "dried banana". It's confusing because of the way that they put "dried" on one line, and "banana" on the next line (for some mysterious reason).

Sorry, I probably should have reformatted it so that it looked right. Instead, I just copied the label from their website.
