Well, I saw the doc this afternoon and I've been cleared to do anything I want! He said the energy will be slow to return...3 to 6 months. But, he also said my having no ambition is likely related to not doing anything and being restricted for so long, so hopefully returning to work will help that.
So, tomorrow I get up at 6:30 for the first time in 6 weeks to go to work. I saw everyone from work Friday at our Christmas party, but I feel so disconnected from it right now.... Feels almost like starting over.

I agree with your doc. As I noted in the other thread, the more we do, the more we feel like doing.
Just don't overdo it for the first week or so. LOL.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Wow, I felt the same way after my hysterectomy. I had my surgery two days after my previous job closed its doors and went to work at my current job 4 weeks later. I thought that no ambition feeling was due to new employment!
Take it slow and things will fall into place. The more stress the worse you will feel. Recovering from a surgery is a MAJOR deal and you have to take it easy. Vitamin C is a good thing to be taking if your not already. It helps the body heal. Make sure they keep an eye on your hormones. They can get wacky and its hell getting them back on track.
Don't you just love us Mother Hen's (& Rooster) telling you what you can and cannot do! That's just cuz its our job & we love and care about you.
Big Hugs!

Thanks guys! I made it through a 9.5 hour day yesterday! Almost like I was never out. Today might be a different story between the long day yesterday and not sleeping terribly well last night, although at this early hour I don't feel too much more tired than normal.
Lori ~ Hormones? What are those? I'm hormone free until May One of the downsides (as my doc said) is that endo feeds on estrogen and then makes its own. So he wants to make sure its all dead (what he didn't remove) before I go on HRT. So far I'm coping with the hot flashes and I'm hoping the worst of the mood swings have been holiday and recovery related and will mellow out now that I'm back to "normal" activities/routines.
I will keep you all posted of course.

I am so glad that you made it through your first day or I suppose it would be your third day by this post. Its easy to get that disconnected feeling though once you have been away for a while. Then of course when you throw in the factor of the hormones or lack there of, well it doesn't help. I did not know about the fact that estrogen feeds the Edemetriosis (sp) though. But perhaps when they did my surgery they did not know as much as they do now? I was 28 when they removed my last ovary, 26 when I had my hysterectomy, and they started me right away on estrogen. The best thing out of it all was not having a monthly anymore, or one that lasted all month. So I hope before too long you start to feel like your old self once again. Ditto what everyone else said too.

Hi Katy,
I think work is easier than being home sometimes. So I totally appreciate how you're feeling. Don't be superwoman, though. Let the housework pile up if you need to lay on the couch at night.
