Anybody have a FMT

Post by gluten »

Hi, I was reading about the high sucess rate in treating C-diff with FMT. I will be scheduling a colonoscopy and thay could do the transplant then. Some of the Mayo clinic FMT program cases showed improvement the next day. Jon

Hi Jon,

Yes, at least several members have tried to treat their MC with fecal transplants, numerous times, with a total lack of success. The procedure is very effective for treating C. diff (because C. diff is caused by a gut bacteria imbalance), but as far as treating MC is concerned, it sucks (thereby providing prima facie evidence that MC is not caused by a gut bacteria imbalance).

You can find the threads discussing the past attempts by searching the archives of this board. If you are unable to locate them, please let me know and I will track them down and post the links.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
