My landlords are the greatest you won't believe what .......
They are leaving in the morning to go to each of their families, one out east, one out west, so I got a knock at my door, and there was Al, holding a loaf of home made bread, said they had got it for supper but didn't use it, and didn't want it to go to waste, and I thought oh nice, I can make sandwiches for my brother and I tomorrow with the roast beef I made. Then he turned around and picked up two big Christmas bags and said these were a little something for Pebbles and me. A little something!!!! They bought Pebbles a can of doggie bisquits that are totally hypoallergenic, made with banana's! So cute. And my bag had a beautiful leather black purse in it, that is just amazing. I love it, its something that I would have picked out too. Then that wasn't it, they had imported chocolates, and a set of of body lotion, hand cream and body wash. Last year they gave me a purse too, canvas and leather, with matching wallet, but again, it was the latest design, and I couldn't have picked one any nicer.
I made them plates of tarts (a favourite of theirs) and fudge and cookies. They don't get home made baking often, unless they buy it. But I did teach Wayne how to make cinnamon buns this summer when he was off work for his knee surgery. Now he whips them up for company. Anyway, just had to tell you how nice they are to me, and Pebbles too. Al always buys Pebbles pink baby powder scented doggie bags from London, England because he flies there once or twice a month.
I also wanted to change the look of my landing, so that when you come in it looks welcoming, so I thought I would get the help of my SIL and paint a huge picture for it. I told Al about what I wanted to do, as he was going to be changing the lighting anyway, so he is putting in censor lighting, and with me putting a picture up, he bought spotlights. So he is going to put them up after the holidays. When I was at my SIL's we had decided on a size, of about 3 1/2 ft high and 28 inches wide, so she had 2x2's cut to size, and my brother put it together, and stapled the canvas on it that we bought at fabricland, and then he painted the base on the canvas. From there we went through all kinds of art books and so forth looking for some kind of inspiration till we found something just right. Then we penciled in the overall picture for a base for me to start with. Its going to be a beautiful picture of a lounge chair on a deck looking out onto the ocean. There are flowers hanging down over the back wall, and tables set with wine glasses and fruit, and tropical plants. It looks very inviting, like somewhere you could go and just relax. But it is a project for me to do, and to be proud about. I HOPE!!!
Right now though, I have mugs to pack with chocolates and dried fruit and nuts for everyone's gift. Here I was thinking that Christmas day was Sat. and then was told no its Sunday, so now I have a whole extra day to get things done before then, its like a big bonus for me.
I know I should be out in my livingroom doing just that, but I'ma liken this new puter and seeing how it all works. And then there is that extra day I found too, so not worried.
Pebbles is not too thrilled with me today, as I bought treats for my daughters dogs, bacon flavour, but I split the bag between the two of them, forgot that she was likely to smell them. Well she went a little nuts trying to get to the bags where I put the dog treats. Didn't think she could smell them through the sealed bags, but she could. I had to take them out and put them on top of the dresser, as she can't eat them or she will get an allergic reaction. She is not impressed. Its bad enough that I had to hide the bag of dog toys from her, now the dog treats too. At least the cat toys and treats were safe, she was not interested in them at all. Poor little tyke, so many allergies. And then she gives you that sad little look to melt your heart, or sits pretty. Darn, they are smart.
Gentle hugs to everyone, hope you are all ready for Santa. I can hardly wait till my grandson is here and old enough to know about what's what. Right now I just get to rub Amanda's belly.
Merry Merry everyone where ever you are and who ever you are with.
Great Big Hugs

What wonderful people......but then how could anyone not love you and I am certain your more of a friend than a tenant.
Merry Christmas Wendy!
Hope you enjoy that roast beef sandwich on homemade bread. My mouth is watering just thinking about it, slurp, slurp. Hehe!
