I have one of Dr Wahls books "Minding Your Mitochondria". Her story is very interesting and she provides a lot of good information. The problem with her dietary recommendations for most of us here is that the amount of vegetables she suggests we eat daily would provided much more fiber than most of us could tolerate. I recently signed up for her next webinar (it is free). It is heartening to see an MD who understands the importance of diet and her ability to control her own disease only strengthens her arguments. One thing I have learned over time is that any dietary protocol, whatever its merits, needs to be at least tweaked, for those with multiple food sensitivities. That said I find Dr Wahls worth listening to.

I am now reading Dr Wahls new book "The Wahls Protocol". Her primary interest is in dietary and lifestyle measures for healing autoimmune disease. She has MS but believes that her recommendations extend to all autoimmune diseases. It is a very interesting book, well worth reading, even if the high fiber content of her recommendations are beyond what many here could tolerate. Her focus is not on the consumption of fiber but on the nutrient density of the food. I have found that I can now eat a lot more fiber than I once could. In fact my diet now comes close to what she calls her Paleo Plus diet. I just don't have as high a vegetable intake but I am going to experiment and see if I can up that. So far it hasn't caused me any trouble. I even ate some yellow and orange peppers last night, raw, with no trouble, first raw veggies in 2 years. Is salad next?

Jean,

That sounds so promising! I am so happy for you that you can eat more things and even some raw veggies! I have ordered her new book also. Hasn't come yet.
