Regarding Animal Protein and Paleo
So, I found this article on one a site I was visiting and wanted to share with you guys. Presupposing many of you here are very knowledgeable on this sort of thing, and because I remember reading an article from Tex about how places that were on just animal fat diets did well, I wanted to know how this study related. I eat red meat about three times a week, pork once or twice a week, and chicken and fish the remainder of the time. Should I not eat so much, and where else can I get proteins if not from animal fats? Very confused...

What evidence? Where's the link to the actual study (if it exists)? I didn't see it in the article. Researchers these days are bad about posting conclusions that have no relation whatsoever to the actual research data. It's usually necessary to see the actually data to determine whether there is any truth in the conclusions claimed by an author of such a study."We provide convincing evidence that a high-protein diet, particularly if the proteins are derived from animals, is nearly as bad as smoking," said Dr. Valter D. Longo, lead author of the study.
As an aside, there is plenty of convincing research that proves that the conclusions reached in most medical research articles published these days are absolutely false. Too many researchers pick and choose data in order to prove their preselected agenda, and they throw out or disregard any data that don't agree with their agenda. Such research is worse than useless — it's totally corrupt and dishonest. But there's plenty of it around these days (presumably because it pays well).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
There have been many articles debunking this study. Here are a few:

Thanks Jean. Apparently I've been spending too much time on the back 40, because I wasn't even aware of that original study, let alone all the articles that have been published to debunk it. Apparently that study wasn't even worth the paper it was printed on.
