STOPPED ENTOCORT

Post by janet »

FRIENDS HELLO, AND HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY.
I HAVE WEANED OFF ENTOCORT FOR A WEEK NOW.
HAD LOTS OF UNPLEASANT SIDE EFFECT, THE WORSE ONE BEING MY HAIR LOSS, I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN A PRIDE IN MY HAIR.
WHAT DO THEY SAY PRIDE BEFORE A FALL.
SAW THE GASTRO DR FOR THE LAST TIME TODAY.
AND SO NOW I WILL TRY LIVING A RELAXING LIFE FREE OF STEROIDS, AND WILL TRY TO GO WITH WHAT I EAT AND
WHAT DISAGREES WITH MY BOWELS.MY QUESTION IS THIS, WILL MY HAIR GROW BACK AND WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO
SEE IMPROVEMENTS IN IT FALLING OUT?

ENTOCORT DID DIDDLY SQUAT FOR ME.

THANKYOU FOR LISTENING TO ME CRIBBING.

LOVE MARIE

Hi Marie,

Yes, unfortunately Entocort does not help everyone.

Regarding the side effects, your hair should stop falling out within a few weeks after you stop taking the drug. Of course it will take a while for your hair to grow back, but it should soon begin to grow thicker again.

I hope that you can fine-tune your diet so that it will control your MC symptoms.

Love,
Tex

Oh, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I can't afford to have any more hair loss.

I stepped myself down to 2 pills a day on Feb. 10th.

I am going to try LDN if my GI will approve.

I have lost my hair to shedding several times over the past few years due to childbirth, malnutrition from my sphincter of oddi dysfunction, and surgeries/procedures. I went to a hairdresser who recommended a protocol by Rene Furterer for Sudden Thinning Hair. It is all plant-based. Once a week, you rub the oil into your scalp, leave on for 20-30 minutes then wash with the shampoo then towel dry hair and rub contents of ampules into scalp. I swear by it. I had 1-2 inch hair growth (like short baby hairs) within the first month. They give you more than enough of the oil and shampoo that I'd put the oil in my scalp and sleep on it a few times a week then wash with the shampoo the next morning. Not sure what the policy is to post links to products, but here it is: http://www.beauty.com/rene-furterer-sud ... atid=13006. BTW I don't benefit from this, so maybe it's ok to post?
Strongly believe I have a form of MC that began to flare December 27, 2013.

Hi Brooke,

Sure, as long as you're not selling snake oil, it's OK to post links to products that you personally find to be useful in dealing with issues associated with MC. Hair loss is a topic that comes up frequently.

I was losing hair from my autoimmune disease affecting my scalp. Steroids actually helped it grow back. Lots of people with DM swear by biotin supplements to help the hairloss. I take a biotin pill a few times a week, but there is also some in my multi.

Marie - you answered my post about MY hair loss. I am also "getting on". I think I will be interested in looking as good as I can till the day I die.

Brooke - I am going to try some of that stuff.

Zizzle - biotin it is.

Joan - going on LDN WITHOUT my doc's approval because he wouldn't.

Try the Good Hair Day from Joan Rivers. Do a PP search to make sure of the correct name. I noticed they make white now so I will mix with salt and pepper.

I've added biotin and selenium to my supplements. I feel like I'm going to be like Suzanne Sommers pretty soon. She takes many, many things.
