Hi Wayne

Received you card today. Lovely surprise. Thank you for your sentiments.

My family are looking forward to a fairly quiet but happy time. This board is a life saver for all of us I think. Just to be able to discuss our problems with people who really understand is worth more than anything in the world.

Love & best wishes to you & yours.

Love

Morning Wayne,

I also received a card and it was so lovely. I do intend to take the time for Frank & I this holiday since no visitors and I promise not to be blue. You are the greatest.

Love, Maggie

Sigh! It's hard to win in this game.

Polly, to be honest, I didn't send you a Christmas card, after reading your post where you mentioned that you didn't send them, (at least, I think I remember reading that).

Frankly, I'm not much of a card sender. I tried to send a Christmas card to everyone who sent me one, though.

Peg, you're too impatient. Since you sent me one, I certainly wouldn't fail to send you one. Apparently it takes longer to move mail from Texas to Canada, than it does from Texas to Australia. Besides, surely you are aware that my motto is "Never Do Today What You Can Put Off Til Tomorrow".

What, who me, impatient - couldn't be! :whatever:

I'm not expecting :angrymail: but it might make me  just a little.

Liz,

Naw, don't give it a seconds thought. You certainly haven't done anything wrong. Everyone has different expectations.

If anyone is at fault, it's me, cause I don't send Christmas cards out 3 weeks ahead of time, the way a lot of folks do, and I usually don't send cards to anyone, unless I receive a card from them. I try to send them so that they will arrive close to Christmas, which can lead to complications, due to varying mail delivery times. A lot of folks think that they should be sent much earlier. Yours apparently arrived sooner than I expected. That was pretty good mail service.

Incidentally, I love to read your posts, especially the ones with a unique Aussie slant, such as your AUSSIE JINGLE BELLS post.

You bring a lot of interesting things to the board, that we wouldn't have available, without your input. Thank you for broadening our horizons.

Love,
Wayne

Hi Tex

Thought you may like this one too.

This is an Aussie novelty holiday song (recorded by Rolf Harris) which explains how Santa uses "Six White Boomers" instead of eight tiny reindeer to pull his sleigh through the Australian heat.

SIX WHITE BOOMERS

Early on one Christmas Day, a Joey Kangaroo
Was far from home and lost in a great big zoo
"Mummy, wheres my mummy, theyve taken her away!"
"Well help you find your mummy son, hop up on the sleigh."

Up beside the bag of toys, little Joey hopped,
But they hadnt gone far when Santa stopped
Unharnessed all the reindeer and Joey wondered why
Then he heard a far off booming in the sky.

Chorus: Six white boomers, snow white boomers
Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun
Six white boomers, snow white boomers
On his Australian run.

Pretty soon old Santa began to feel the heat,
Took his fur-lined boots off to cool his feet
Into one popped Joey, feeling quite okay
While those old man kangaroos kept pulling on the sleigh.

Joey said to Santa, "Santa, what about the toys?
Arent you giving some to these girls and boys?"
"Theyve all got their presents son, we were here last night
This trip is an extra trip, Joeys special flight." (chorus)

Soon the sleigh was flashing past, right over Marble Bar
"Slow down there", cried Santa, "it cant be far.
Come up on my lap son, and have a look around."
"There she is, thats mummy, bounding up and down!"

Well thats the bestest Christmas treat that Joey ever had
Curled up in his mothers pouch all snug and glad
The last they saw was Santa headed northward from the sun
The only year the boomers worked a double run. (chorus)

Love
