Yep. They've been around for a long time. They were known as Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratories before they became Geneva Diagnostics Laboratories. I've forgotten the reason why they had to change their name, but that happened roughly 8 or 10 years ago, as best I can recall.

They cater to practitioners who tend to use non-standard tests.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I did the Metametrix stool tests last Sept. and they showed I had no parasites, no overgrowth of yeast, no overgrowth of bad bacteria, I had low good bacteria. That is what I remember now without looking at the results. I tried probiotics to bring up my good bacteria but of course that didn't work. I was working with the guys at scdlifestyles and they ordered them and said they were surprised that I didn't have some overgrowth of something. Steve said that probably 60% of their clients have some overgrowth of something.

Linda,
The same type of lab here in Australia is classed as Functional Pathology.

I have used this type of lab before, and only this week did the MTHFR gene test and the Pyrrole disorder test.

They also have
Vit D3 testing, $68,
Gut permeability (leaky gut) is about $100
Hair mineral analysis $120

And as Pat mentioned they have testing for all the various gut bacteria'is, yeast etc, so you can figure out any imbalance with the inhabitants of the gut.

Very useful if you have a doctor that is not pro-active about Vit D3 testing.

Here in Aus, the results have to go to a registered Practitioner. I have found a very informed naturopath/nutritionist who is not only affordable (apts are $40 out of pocket cost) but what really impressed me was her knowledge of IBD's, and that treatment protocols have to suit the individual.
