I had my annual visit with my PCP today. I went there with notes, questions, and Tex's book. I was surprised she understood food sensitivities to the extreme extent that she did. She also pointed out how each of us is different; therefore, what works for one won't necessarily work for another person (which is something all of us here already know). I go to Mayo Health Care System for my healthcare. I gave her a copy of my Enterolab results as well as I want it on my record that I am definitely sensitive to gluten and dairy.
Tex - she is very interested in reading your book. She found the cover picture on the book very intriguing, and wondered what it meant. I thought you had mentioned it at one time, but I couldn't remember what it was.
All in all, my appointment went very well. I didn't have any complaints of any physical nature, so I spent my time talking to her about Enterolab testing, mast cell issues, thyroid issues (found out my tests in 2011 were TSH only). She also mentioned I am due for another colonoscopy in 2015. She is well aware that the clean-out procedure can cause a lot of havoc especially for those of us with an IBD. Well, I have a year to think about whether I'll have the colonoscopy. By then, I may go through with it just to see how much improvement there really is.
