It's almost a year since I got LC (I say "got" because that's when my diarrhea began; thankfully, it's been in remission now for 5 months). Anyway, I've been examining, again, what I was doing/eating/thinking the month or so before my LC started.
One thing that occurred to me is that I have never eaten much yogurt. But the month before my LC I was eating live culture yogurt every day (blueberry, with aspertame sweetener in it). I am not lactose intolerant.
Can there be such a thing as TOO much bacteria from eating yogurt? Or maybe it had something to do with the aspertame? I generally do not eat things that I know contain aspertame, not for any reason than that I prefer natural sweeteners.
Love, Carrie

I think I'd lead more toward the artificial sweetener than the bacteria. Its very hard to get too much good bacteria when you need it, and some here have found artificial sweeteners to cause problems. But it might have also just been your time for the LC to be symptomatic or whatever. Gosh this disease is a mystery, isn't it?

When I first got sick I lived on yogurt, I didn't get too much bateria. In fact My GI said Keep eating it. Imadgine a GI, More or less conventional doctor who believed in herbs used correctly. Hope you are better soon. Love Oma
