Need help with iga numbers

Post by Sport »

Just received results from iga testing, but I don't know what it means. I do not know if I'm iga deficient or not. Want to have enterolab tests so hope these are good results.

Immunoglobulin g, Qn, serum. 935 mg/dl. Ref 700-1600
Immunoglobulin a, Qn, serum. 252 mg/dl. Ref 91-414
Immunoglobulin m, Qn serum. 89 mg/dl. Ref 40-230
Immunoglobulin e, Qn. Serum. 105 iu/ml. Ref0-100. High

t-Transglutaminase (tTG). IgA. <2. Reference 0-3

tTGhas been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy.

Those numbers look good. You do not have selective IgA deficiency, so you should be good to go for the EnteroLab tests. They should provide accurate results for you.

The high IgE result suggests that you are having classic allergy symptoms, probably connected with pollen season. That won't affect your EnteroLab results.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
