Another Christmas done

Post by Momster »

We had a wonderful day yesterday with Peggy, Ronny, my Sister, Donna, and her husband, Paul, (who is still suffering from a nasty cold, but recovering). Ate too much, but that's par for the course.
Today my other daughter, Lisa, and family are coming for dinner. It's easier to do it in two days than one and Lisa likes to stay home on Christmas day, so that works for all of us. We're doing ham and scalloped potatoes today and still have apple pie, pumpkin pie, Momster's special shrimp chip dip and lots of cookies, etc., so hope they help us eat it all. I'm going to send lots of the baking home with them because we sure don't need it here and my grandchildren, Sara and Kevin will help me with that.
We did lots of homemade stuff for gifts this year and I had lots of fun doing that. I think the girls liked my project I did for them. I copied my Mom's old recipes she had gathered over the years and did Grandma's recipe books for them. Lots of them were in Mom's handwriting and sure have special meaning for me (I did books for my Sister and I also).
We've had rainy weather over Christmas and it's quite warm, so easy to get around.
John has gone out to brave the Boxing Day shopping crowd. You wouldn't get me out in that, but he loves it and is looking for outside Christmas lights. Can't get too many more though because we blew the breaker last night. We're looking for those LED lights so we won't have such a drain on the power company and big bills.
Anyway, have a nice rest of the holiday season and try not to stress over it. Nice to enjoy the celebrations but ot tire ourselves out over it.

Love - Momster

We had a pretty good day too. My friend at work had her baby @ 1:30 am on Christmas morning. She was almost a whole month early so this was a big surprise. We spent some time at the hosptial visiting and holding the baby.

The family left today for a week and I am home by myself! I have a phone interview tomorrow.

Have a good dinner with your daughter & family.

Hugs

Hi Momster,

I'm with you on the Boxing Day sales. I know you can get great bargains but I really would like to keep living rather than be killed in the stampede.
Your gifts sound beaut. You obviously put much love & time into them.

Love

Liz
