Value of a Good Book
Wow, I had added Tex's book to my wish list at half.com. Then went ahead and bought it for full price.
Now the price is $124 wow they really must like that book!

Such vendors are unauthorized resellers. Unlike first line booksellers, resellers (even authorized resellers) tend to price books all over the place, with no apparent correlation to their actual cost. I've seen 1 or 2 resellers list the book at over 900 bucks at one time or another. Does anyone ever pay that kind of price?
I did a search this morning, and I see that the used prices start at roughly twice the price of a new book, and range upward from there. One place (apparently a college textbook rental company) is willing to rent the book for $192.19. But wait! It's a much better deal than it seems, because that's the fee for an entire semester (130 days). No wonder a college education is so ridiculously expensive these days. Maybe they're banking on the book going out of print any day now, but that's not likely.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I sometimes buy and then resell books on half.com, but will be keeping this one to refer back to from time to time. Some parts of it were very hard for me to wrap my head around, will take a second or third read.
