Tex! Are the fires anywhere near you?

Post by Peggy »

I just read an article about the fires in TX. I know you're having a drought right now in your area...I hope you aren't anywhere near the fires!

Man, I wish I could send you all the rain we're having here.

The local fire departments are regularly fighting minor grass fires, but we haven't had any serious fires around here. Most of the really bad ones have been several hundred miles North or Northwest of here. The risk of fire is bad over most of Texas, though, as there is a lot of dry grass, and the drought is keeping the humidity low.

There was a bad fire in the Cross Plains area, which is not very far NW of where Oma lives. There's no significant chance of rain in the forcast anytime in the near future, either.

Love,
Wayne
