Pork rind experiment

I bought the Old Dutch brand "BAC'N PUFFS"
27 pieces(50g)= 270 calories,870mg sodium, 18g fat
I ate 10 pieces. I enjoyed them. Very salty taste, very fatty.
Did cause a minute increase in my blood sugar.
Did notice that I was unable to get my rings on the next morning.
Also noticed that next day BM was softer than usual.
This may be an unconventional way to lube colon during constipation. Just a thought!
My final opinion... Will eat them again in small quantity!

When I was a kid, we always butchered our own hogs, and rendered the lard. We kids couldn't keep from "pigging out" on the cracklings that were left after the hot liquid lard was filtered out. Of course they still had all that deep-fried pork fat attached, but you're right, they are potent colon lubricants, especially in large quantities. :shock: Of course that never seemed to stop us from pigging out on them. :lol:

Ingredients:pork rinds,lard,salt
FYI.... The OLD DUTCH are much better!!!!

My husband eats these like candy; they keep his weight down. :) I'll have to notice the brand next time we buy.

I like them but they get stuck in my esophagus.
Also have sleep apnea
