Update to my update

Post by TXBrenda »

Received the results from my bone scan this afternoon. My knee implant has started to loosen. Next step is an appointment with a surgeon in the clinic.

I will keep you posted.

Norman is still in residence.

Oh dear. That's not cool. Good thing you are in tune with your body to recognize that there is a problem. Good luck with the next appt & hope they can get ya in to correct it soon.

Let's hope that if you have to have further surgery, Norman stays in residence. Just take it one step at a time---literally☺️. Good call, knowing that something wasn't right!

I appreciate the good thoughts. My knees were replaced between 9 & 10 years ago. Other than some swelling in the first year post op, they have not given me any trouble. When the pain started about three weeks ago, I knew something was wrong. I now have to use my walker to get around in the house.

I have two options:
1) knee fusion
2) revision to replace the implant

Both the above involve surgery.

Sorry about your knees Brenda. I have had a couple back surgeries but all has been well for about a decade now. Surgery is never fun, but neither is pain and trouble walking. Keep us posted.

Does not sound like fun Brenda. Hope they can fix it without really invasive work. Praying for you and hope you can ditch the walker.

Love, Maggie

Met with my knee surgeon this afternoon. My surgery is currently scheduled for May 27 at the larger in-network hospital that is local. The only thing that might cause them to delay it would be my cardiologist wanting to see me prior to providing surgery clearance.

I am feeling very relieved right now.
