Recurring Dream
When I was a child I often had the same dream that I can still see clearly to this day. I was running away from something or somebody, never found out what it was. I would get to the Granny's Bonnet plant in the garden at my aunts place & although I ran as fast as I could I did not go any further. Had that same dream time & time again. Had the same dream while under anaesthetic for dentistry work and then I got a back view, but I was sitting on a merry-go-round and I could feel something beside me. It looked like a black football with a flap on one side.
Now that's weird.

That's so interesting Liz.....I had a reocurring dream also...but the one that really gets me to this day was this: I was in a hospital having surgery (for real) in Utah.....I had a terrible dream while I was in recovery. I woke screaming NO! My mother had died in the dream in a hospital and I was in the waiting room. When I woke and was clear of the meds I called all over California where my parents lived. My mother worked for a doctor there and I finally called the hospital where he was chief of staff and paged my father. When I asked about mother he asked me "how did you know?" I said never mind Dad is she ok...he told me she died twice and they revived her twice and that she was fine now. It was a cancer surgery that I knew nothing about. Didn't even know she was ill. They felt it better to keep us kids from worrying. Love Oma
WOW, Oma.
I have 3 recurring dreams:
1. A tidal wave is coming and I am in a house and can't get out. The wave crashes over the house and I wake up suffocating.
2. My teeth start falling out. I am holding them in my hand and desperately trying to get to the dentist but can't seem to get there.
3. I am late to class for a test. Everyone else has already started. The test is a jigsaw puzzle of the U.S. and I panic because I can never remember where those little New England states are located - NH, VT (sorry, Katy), RI.
Now who's the WEIRDO???
Love,
Polly
P.S. Liz, what's a Granny's Bonnet plant???

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Oma I think our dreams are sometimes premonitions. Maybe we sense something is about to happen, maybe something that could make us unhappy & it surfaces in our subconcious. Sometimes I get a deja vu feeling about something that is happening. Could this be because we have already had the experience in a dream? Who knows. The brain is a wonderful & complex thing & we possible will never know the answer to some of the things that go through our mind, concious or unconcious.

Hi Liz,
I've had that same deja vu feeling on a number of occasions, and I also wondered if I had dreamed it previously. In fact, on more than one occasion, I've been pretty dang sure that I must have dreamed it beforehand.
Love,
Wayne

I think that may be an answer Wayne. It is really funny even when in the middle of a conversation with someone, or something is happening, you sort of know what is coming next. A bit wierd eh.
Sometimes dreams are so real that you have to stop & think whether or not the events had really happened.
Oh well, I suppose it is all part of the mysteries of life itself.

Liz....You might think this is nuts...but I have lived in three haunted houses with witnesses...and have had some pretty wierd stuff happen to me that I don't tell most people as they would call me NUTS. My mother had preminations along with My sister, brother, me and my daughter. My husband and I have had the same dream before on the same night. My daughter and Mother both had a preminition on the same night about me going on a trip I planned. They told me and I didn't go...there was a 5 car pile-up on the route I would have taken. They saw the accident in thier dream and I was in it. We saw it on the news. SO I listen to my feelings about things like that. I meet people sometimes and can't shake hands because I feel something that isn't right with them. My daughter used to hear me call her in her head when she was miles away to call or come home. I know that seems wierd. Love Oma
Ok, while we're talking about weird dreams, how many others have had this happen?
I've had occasions where I was dreaming away, and the dream got so weird, that it dawned on me that what was happening was impossible, and so I decided in my dream, that I must be dreaming. Once I decided that I was dreaming, I didn't worry about the horrible things that were happening, and even though I might have been falling off a cliff at the time, I just laughed about it, and almost immediately the dream would turn to some sort of pleasant scenario.
Instead of waking, (as I almost always do, otherwise, when I dream I'm falling off a cliff), I kept right on sleeping. I've had this happen to me a number of times, though not recently.
Love,
Wayne
