Very interesting. It helped me understand why I react so poorly to high lectin foods. I hope in a year or so, I can have limited lectins, but clearly I will have to monitor my responses to a high-lectin challenge.

So my diet is now:
Gluten-free
Diary-free
Soy-free
Egg-free
Nightshade-free
Low-histamine!!!!!
Low-FODMAPs
Artificial sweetener free
Vegetable-oil free
Low-fructose
Alcohol free
Low-lectin(naturally occurring in above)
Absolutely fresh!!!! (Fish, is generally high-histamine unless super fresh. So I only eat frozen fish, I prepare) with no leftovers allowed, and all proteins prepared from frozen meats (not the meats from grocery stores, unless they were flash frozen and shipped frozen, the meat in meat cases is building histamines by the day/hour/minute, and I get massive Mast cell degradation).

Wow! So I eat fresh meat, a few vegetables carefully prepared, and some berries, all this with some added healthy fats.

It helps. But, I'm still losing weight (has slowed), and still have 100% D, with 3-4 days a week of explosive WD and little bowel control.

Next step:
FOOD-FREE:)
Diagnosed April 2014, after losing 50 lbs. in 6 months.
Delzicol April 2014 (no effect, after 3.5 weeks-removed)
Endicort April 2014 - helping, but still losing.
Pepto-Bismal 9 a day - May 2014
Thankful for support!

You forgot one........low fiber! LOL.

Your email made me smile - very similar to how I used to have to eat. It does improve over time, so don't be discouraged.

I was the first one here (14 years ago) to learn I had multiple food sensitivities. It took me a long time to tease them out, not to mention 9 months before I saw a formed BM.

Polly,

Yes, low-fiber. I forgot since that was the very first thing I dropped as it became obvious that fiber and me did not get along!

OK, so here is my diet at the 5 month mark toward HEALING:

Gluten-free
Diary-free
Soy-free
Egg-free
Nightshade-free
Low-histamine!!!!!
Low-FODMAPs
Artificial sweetener free
Vegetable-oil free
Low-fructose
Alcohol free
Low-lectin(naturally occurring in above)
Low-fiber (low fiber vegetables, peeled, seeded, and cooked to mush)
Absolutely fresh!!!! (Fish, is generally high-histamine unless super fresh. So I only eat frozen fish, I prepare) with no leftovers allowed, and all proteins prepared from frozen meats (not the meats from grocery stores, unless they were flash frozen and shipped frozen, the meat in meat cases is building histamines by the day/hour/minute, and I get massive Mast cell degradation).

Wow! So I eat fresh meat, a few vegetables carefully prepared, and some berries, all this with some added healthy fats (Coconut oil, MCT oil, lard, tallow, duck fat, ghee, and limited olive oil, avocado oil - actually fruit oils).

Hopefully at 9 months (or before!) I too will have a Norman.

Had an aha moment reading about lectins.....all the pieces seem to fall in place for me. Grains and soy my worst offenders. Cooking seems to disarm lectins.
