Budesonide and sweating

Post by Grahm »

As I posted before, I'm really having a time with sweating on this. It is miserable and embarrassing! I have cut it back to 2 pills instead of three and don't think it has helped.
I'm going to cut back to one tomorrow and give it a week to see. I might just not be able to take it period.

I'm so much better, eating meats and well cooked veggies. I'm still waiting on my Enterolab results and my Vit D results. The Alegra and Benodryl have helped so I know I have other issues as well.

What is VSL #3 and the Staw Regimen? Is this something I should look in to?
I think I need to be on strong magnesium and I'm looking into that plus a strong Vit C.

I have a bad feeling that there are tons of things that are going to show up on the Enterolab tests.

But I'm happy that I am so much better and have been able to venture out without fear of an accident:)

Thanks for listening, Connie

Connie,

Most of us seem to have problems handling most probiotic products while we are still reacting/recovering. After the inflammation settles down a bit, and our gut does some healing, probiotics are much easier to tolerate. We have a handful of members who can tolerate probiotics at any time, but they are the exception. For many of us, probiotics make our symptoms worse, not better. Therefore, if I were in your situation, I would hold off on such things, and reconsider them later, if I still had an interest in them.

Also, if you have mast cell/histamine issues, a probiotic might antagonize things, because products that involve fermentation are typically relatively high in histamines.

An anticholinergic can be used to reduce or eliminate hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), because that is one of their side effects. Unfortunately, they also have many other side effects (such as dry mouth, a sedating effect, possible vision issues, reduced gut motility, etc.), so you might want to discuss the issues with your pharmacist, before going this route (pharmacists are usually much more knowledgeable about medications, especially side effects, than doctors). And anticholinergics are contraindicated for anyone who has glaucoma, since they tend to increase intraocular pressure. Actually, Benedryl has some anticholinergic effect. Have you noticed any reduction in perspiration after taking it?

I don't think the Benadryl has made a difference in the sweating but I will pay more attn after taking another one. What do u think about cutting the budisonide back to one?

Thanks for replying Tex, you are wonderful to us all.

I'm so anxious for all these test to come back, seems to take forever:)

Thanks again, Connie

My experience has been that I have handled pre-biotic, pro-biotic, digestive enzyme much much better after good healing has occurred, and Vit d3 levels in good range.
I also had the histamine levels in balance. (Using magnesium, Vit c to keep them balanced, after years of using h1, h2 blockers)

There is no set timing or formula as to when MC'ers can handle biotic supplementation.
I think it is one of those things that you try every 3-6 months, if it works stick with it, if it doesn't, now is not the right time.

As I probably mentioned before, some people are very sensitive to budesonide, and those individuals are better off taking a lower dose (in order to reduce the risk of side effects). In many cases it still provides the control needed. All you can do is try. If it doesn't work, or if it doesn't work as well, then you will have to decide whether you want to boost the dosage again.

You're very welcome.
