magnesium
Gabes has been keeping us up-to-date with magnesium info, and I just ran across this article:
http://www.naturalnews.com/046103_magne ... z38ER2HmwG
It doesn't say anything about the second/third forms of magnesium, and their laxative effects, though.

Thanks Linda
my gut feel (pun intended) is that different people react differently to the various forms of Magnesium.
A form that has laxative effects on one person, may not on another
cell biology, inflammation, medications taken etc has alot to do with this
The powder that I take has a combo of forms;
- magnesium amino acid chelate
- magnesium citrate
- magnesium orotate dihydrate
- magnesium Phosphate
the measure dose of this powder provides 310mg of elemental Magnesium per dose

Hey guys,
Since I've been reading some of Gabes' posts I started using magnesium oil on the skin for about a week now. I have to say I feel pretty great! Better sleep and more calm in general. I was wondering, Gabes, what do you use for a vitamin C supplement? Afraid of its laxative effect also. I kinda want to pick your brain on all the supplements you use but that is quite a tedious request ( and we are all like snowflakes). I just had never heard of magnesium oil and I don't want to miss anymore wonderful things. Thanks!

Vanessa, great news about the magnesium!
isnt it a bit weird that something so ?simple, could be that effective in a short time.
I use a Vit C powder that is produced in Aus. (dont think it is avail in the USA)
I mix it with the magnesium mix powder and the two together taste ok, I make this up 3-4 times a day, and sip it slowly over a period of an hour. This way I am getting small amounts through the day.
I have always eaten vegetables that have a bit of Vit C, cauliflower, sweet potato.
Lesley got a Vit C powder and she is struggling with the taste.
you might have to do a bit of research, to find one that suits. If you have a compounding pharmacy nearby, talk to them, they may have some MC safe options. advantage of powder is that you can increase the dose gradually. the other option is seeing if there are any kids vit C products that are MC safe, the dose would be low, so you could space the intake to 3-4 times a day.

After I posted that question I found all the info I asked about on the wonderful magnesium posts at the top. There is sooo much info on this website I can get lost in it for hours ( which isn't that great for my anxiety about the situation) I want to learn as much as I can but knowing too much kind a gets me down and worried about the future. blah blah blah. Anyway I wanted to give a huge thanks to you and the other people on this site that work tirelessly on helping to educate people. I don't know how many times throughout the day that I think how lucky I am to have found this information. I feel so far ahead of the game when I could be very sick on meds and not even be considering wheat as the problem. You guys give people hope and guidance everyday in a world that seems so confusing. Gratitude being sent daily to Australia! By the way my husband plays aussie football on a league here in Des Moines, Iowa. He is obsessed and loves the game. Hopefully that means we get to visit your beautiful country in the future!

The brand my nutritionist recommends is metagenics mitovive. Pretty costly stuff but I think powder is aborbed into the tissues and in this case the mitochondria of the cells a bit better so it can be utilized. I quit taking a lot of my supplements until things calm down a bit more however vit C so important for healing. Metagenics is expensive but they are 3rd party certified and are free of gluten, dairy, and soy. They are the ones who make Ultra InflamX powder. Some people have posted some success with this powder also. It is a medical food aimed at taking down inflammation plus has a detox effect which I assume is why I can only handle small bits of it for now while I am still healing.

Vanessa,
Metagenics is very very good brand, and worth the outlay.
You are getting a high grade product.
Vit C will balance histamine, help adrenals, help immune system, help healing at all levels.
I hope you and DH make it to Aus!! I will look up the Des Moines team.
Lisa,
I suggest powders, as it is an easier way to start with small dose and work up to a full dose. Also, easier to sip a drink made from powder over the period of an hour so the delivery of the Vit c is gradual, not in one hit. Too much of one thing at one time is high risk for causing D.
If the capsule is not causing issues for you - stick with it.
