MRT or Enterolab?

Post by lsedels »

Which is best to ascertain triggers? And has anyone been successful in getting insurance coverage (I don't need to know the details, just whether anyone has managed to get insurance coverage for either)?

Hi Larry,

Enterolab first. Most MCers do not need MRT. I know some have obtained insurance coverage for Enterolab. Don't know about MRT. Your doc would have to approve the test in order to get coverage. Some states (I recall N.Y. and MD) do not allow their residents to use out-of-state labs.

Good luck!

EnteroLab. I don't think Medicare will pay.

With the MRT, everything has to be tested by the patient.

I did both and you definitely want to go with Enterolab first. Enterolab results trump any other test.

Definitely Enterolab. MRT blood test is different. It is useful once you know your main triggers but can be confusing. I had to pay out of pocket for both tests.
