Anxiety/Depression
I have been dealing with anxiety and depression for a month or so.(more anxiety than being depressed)
My doctor put me on Wellbutrin, it has helped with being depressed but the anxiety is still bad.
Does anyone have any suggestions about meds that I could take?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Christina

You could see a psychiatrist if you have panic attacks, and they might prescribe a benzodiazepine, but those have a high addiction rate, and getting off of them is hard.
I have generalized anxiety disorder myself and have found mindfulness to be very helpful. I also exercise to relieve stress. In my experience, meds can help but getting off them is really hard, and the changes I've made (mindfulness, acceptance, letting things go, boundaries) have helped more than anything.
Best wishes.

Christina,
Your mention of an extremely high 25(OH)D level provides a clue. Extremely high vitamin D levels can cause hypercalcemia, and some of the symptoms of hypercalcemia include anxiety, depression and cognitive difficulties. Other possible symptoms that some people experience include headaches, fatigue, constipation, abdominal pain, lack of appetite, muscle weakness and body aches.
If I were in your shoes I would ask my doctor for a serum calcium test to make sure that your blood calcium level is not too high. If it is, just stopping the vitamin D will eventually bring the level down. If the calcium level should be high enough to warrant intervention, it can be lowered promptly by the use of glucocorticoids.
And of course that will also resolve the anxiety/depression symptoms, if hypercalcemia is an issue.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Christina,
I also take Wellbutrin. I have anxiety issues, and I keep alprazolam on hand. I haven't had any issue with it, but I use it selectively, only for situations that really merit (such as flying).
Exercise (walking, yoga, strength training, core training) is key for helping me manage anxiety. I recommend finding exercise you enjoy. I'm trying to find my way toward meditation, but haven't gotten there yet.
I'm not a great sleeper, but I really try to get enough sleep, because my anxiety is always worst in the night, or if I'm tired.
