Foods that make you burp more than usual

Post by Jonas »

I have noticed that I burp more when I eat Thorn B-vitamin supplement, mackerel and cucumber. What thus that tell me? Should I avoid/limit foods/supplements that make me burp more than usual?

Hi Jonas,

When I was recovering, I considered burping to be a good sign, because it was when I couldn't burp that my nausea/indigestion got out of hand. Of course, burping is usually considered to be an undesirable event in social settings, but the reality is, certain foods cause burping because of the release of gas, and it probably doesn't matter whether one has MC or not, those foods will still make us burp.

On some days when nausea was a problem, I could drink a carbonated soft drink, and it would cause me to burp, which would relieve the nausea. But we may all have different opinions on this issue.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
