What about the flu shot?

Post by Grahm »

I have always taken the flu shot and never had a problem with it. Now that I know that eggs are a problem for me (it was a 10) on my Enterolab test I'm wondering what to do. Do most of you take it? I have always been so healthy but since this DX I'm just not sure. I've never had a cold that I can remember. I've had issues with sinus and some allergies but not bad.

Hi Connie,

There are differences in responses to that vaccine, depending on our immune system, and our medical history. The odds are pretty high that it wouldn't cause you to have any adverse reactions. If you are exposed to a lot of young kids (teaching, working in a pediatricians office, etc.,) for example, the vaccine might be helpful. Basically the vaccine is safe for most of us, but you might want to read the discussions at the following links, for a perspective on other members' experiences and opinions. Personally, I have never had a flu shot. IMO the flu vaccine campaign is a huge cash cow for everyone involved except for the consumers (as usual )

And you might gain some additional insight by reading the section on The Autoimmune-Immunization Issue in the article at the following link:

Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

I haven't gotten a flu shot in years. Some years I get it, most years I don't. It's about the same odds when I used to get flu shots eons ago. One of the worst boughts with the flu I had was a year when I took the vaccine.

I've found vit D to be very helpful.
