Breast Cancer

Post by nancyl »

I just thought I'd share my latest with all my good friends here. I have been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. It is very small, about 5 mm and it was caught early. I will be going in for surgery on Thurs. Sept. 4th so they can do a lumpectomy and check to see if it has spread to the lymph nodes. I have a very good oncologist and surgeon (recommended by Joe Funk). The good thing is my GI is in the same building as these doctors so they will all work together. I am optimistic as are my doctors.

I will let you all know how I make out later in the week.

Nancy,

Thanks for sharing your news. I know it must be a very difficult time for you, and your family. It sounds as though your prognosis is good, so try to stay positive, & count your blessings....easier said than done, I know, but it will be alright!

Nancy,

That's good news that it was caught so early.

We'll all be thinking of you and wishing for a full and uneventful recovery.

I know that we have already been in contact Nancy, but please let me know if I can be of any help…. support. Call me a few days after your surgery and let me know how you are healing. That underarm one ( nodes) can heal weird and you have to make sure the scar tissue doesn't "grab onto" a tendon. It makes it difficult to lift the arm.
I'll be thinking of you on the 4th and sending positive thoughts.
