Sign of Progress - have faith

Post by Gabes-Apg »

For the first time in 10 years (or more) i went to the dentist for 6 mthly check up, NOT because something needed fixing.

This in itself is a good milestone in my wellness journey.
The Woo Hoo moment came when he said how good the teeth and gums are doing.

A nice reminder that focussing on reducing inflammation, healing the leaky gut, fixing deficiencies is worth every ounce of effort, tenacity and cost. Evidence of improvement in all body wellness is a good achievement!
Things are on track to keep my remaining molers and I will not need any major works. The Zinc and CoQ10 are working their magic.

To any of the newbies reading this, hang in there, be patient. It has taken me almost 5 years post Dx to see this type of milestone.
Figure out your safe eating plan, and stick with it, sticking with a strict eating plan will optimise wellness for your whole body.

That's terrific news Gabes! Thanks for giving the reminder that for some of us it may take much longer. You inspire me to keep trying even though some days I'd like to throw in the towel.

That's great! I've had dental issues all my life (waiting on a perm crown right now), so this is news I like to hear.

Congratulations :) It's just more evidence that you are doing right by your body (and going to the dentist less is always a bonus!)

That is good news. You do work so hard at being healthy. Your research and all the knowledge you have gained from it seems to be paying off.

Keep up the good work!!

Deb,
For any of us that have multiple issues, and getting stability on symptoms is a challenge, wellness will take time. Hang in there...
2 years ago I was in moderate risk of losing more molers.

Tkdmama, a crown is not always a good long term solution.
One of my major dental issues was a tooth ( where I had nasty root canal 12 years ago) that had a crown, the tooth was rotten underneath the crown, and this was causing high levels of bacteria on my mouth, and affecting the other teeth.
There is a tooth that the dentist wants to put a crown on. Given my well cooked MC eating plan does not put much strain on the teeth, and the cost, I won't be doing the crown. There are many other viable things I can spend $700 on!!!

This is great news, Gabes! I dislike dental visits. Thank you for the encouraging post for all of us to remember.... be very patient and diligent with our journey.

Last time I had my teeth cleaned my hygienist commented on how much better my gums looked. I am now down to 2 cleanings a year instead of 3. Like you Gabes, I attribute it to my dietary changes. I have bunch of crowns in my mouth. I've never had any problems with them. They were put in to save some badly deteriorating teeth with fillings and probably saved me from some more extensive and expensive work. It's often hard to know what the best option is. I know that crowns are not necessarily a permanent fix but they have been working for me so far.

I trust we are all aware that thin, weak tooth enamel, followed by serious tooth decay is a classic sign of years of untreated gluten sensitivity.
