I had the surgery yesterday and that went well. He removed 2 or 3 lymph nodes and hopefully a good clean margin around the area. He said the nodes looked good, but I will wait until we get results back from pathology before I celebrate. I feel fine today, no pain meds needed since after dinner last night.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. It means a lot.
I also have been thinking about and praying for you. I'm glad your surgery went well.
I recently read a book called Life Unexpected: A Trauma Psychologist's Journey through Breast Cancer, by Naomi L. Baum. I got it on one of those get-it-free-on-Kindle offerings. It's really good, and gives a lot of practical tips at the end of each chapter. Like Tips on Waiting for Results, Tips on Learning about your Cancer, Tips on Getting and Giving Help, etc.
Please keep us posted on your journey, and know that we all care about you.
Nancy - I have been AWOL a lot - preoccupied with events back home - so I missed this. I am SO glad the surgery is over and that you are feeling good and optimistic. That's the way to healing. Sending every positive thought I can your way right now!
So glad to hear all went well Nancy but I know waiting for the biopsy results can be nerve wracking. Hope all is good and yes, your are the optimist. My friend here at the Outer Banks has nicknamed me FTO - Forever the Optimist. It is much better than being pessimistic like him.
Love, Maggie
