Hi there. My daughter is now being treated for strep throat. Today, my throat is beginning to get sore. I will probably get swabbed tomorrow. if I do have it, what antibiotic would be safest? I know they like to prescribe penicillin for this one. Will it give me D? I haven't had to take one since I've been dx with MC.
Thanks
leah

Leah,
Because of the risks of tendonitis and/or peripheral neuropathy associated with the fluoroquinolones, the safest option in your case (if your doctor will go for it) is azithromycin (Z-Pak).
Good luck with this.
