GlutenEase w/DPP-IV Activity

Post by Grahm »

Has anyone taken this? I have a friend that recommended I try it when eating out or at a friends house. Just in case there was something in my food that would cause trouble.

I bought it at Whole Foods today. It is made by Enzymedca. The woman that helped me find it said they sell the fire out of it.

Thanks,
Connie

I use different ones and they all seem to work for me. :)

Edited to add: I've been off Entocort for several months and on LDN for about the same amount of time.
Also have sleep apnea

Hi Connie,
I have used GlutenEase without any obvious problems. I was accidentally glutened last year at a restaurant. There was a pharmacy close by that carried it, and I was able to take the Glutenease within about 15 minutes of taking a big bite of someone else's order. I had no symptoms at all after the incident. However, I was still taking Entocort at the time and that probably saved my bacon as well.

I take it when I am in a new restaurant or don't have confidence that I am being taken seriously. As I said, no side effects to date.

I buy the DPP-IV enzyme from Vitacost. It's a lot cheaper. I take it with every restaurant meal and haven't noticed any gluten cross-contamination symptoms in a long time. I also take a broad spectrum digestive enzyme pill with restaurant and larger/fattier meals. The author of Autoimmune: The Cause and The Cure, believes we lack certain digestive enzymes to break down fats and proteins, and this is the root cause of autoimmunity. I'm not 100% sold on her theory, but the pills sure do help!

I've used it without incident prior to restaurant meals. I keep some in my purse. My main problem is remembering to take it. I didn't use it all during my trip out west.....I simply forgot to take it. I'm going to start using it when I eat at Mom's house (if I can remember.) The last time I was gluttened I cooked the meal at Mom's house and gluttened myself. I made an extremely safe meal for everyone....steaks, sweet potatoes, broccoli but I had a severe reaction the next a.m. The only thing I can figure was I was gluttened from contaminated cutting board or knife or plate etc.
