Vitamin D3 testing
Recently there was a thread that included information about a much cheaper test than the grassroots one. I can't find the thread and wonder if anyone can hook me up with that thread and also wonder if anyone has used it and what they think of it.
I am due for a test, and would appreciate information about it.
Thanks, Beverly

The lab associated with the Vitamin D Council is ZRT Laboratories, and their fee (including shipping) was $70.00, the last time I ordered (in May).
To be honest, I can remember someone else posting about an alternative lab test, but I don't remember the details.
There's a GrassRootsHealth organization test, but it costs the same, except that if you agree to participate in their 5-year project, and order a test every 6 months, you get a $5.00 discount. For all I know, it may be the same Lab.
Maybe someone else will remember the other option. Prior to the Vitamin D Council teaming up with ZRT Labs, there were problems reported with at least one lab that doctors commonly used, that supposedly gave erratic and unreliable results, but now I don't remember the name of that lab, either. The Vitamin D Council supposedly checked out the results of ZRT Labs and found that they were accurate and reliable, so that's why I've been using them.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

The post about cheaper testing was done by me, they were setting up labs in Walmart. Not sure if they are set up yet.
When I get on the computer later I will post the link.... (On the iPad it is near impossible to do links etc. )

Thanks for all the information. It looks like the ZRT Lab is the best option, unless you happen to live in Palo Alto, CA, or Phoenix, AZ. The Walgreen web site suggests checking back to see what new locations will be opening in the future. It sounds like because of the many tests listed by the Theranos site, more locations could be slow in opening. It sounds quite extensive.
