Brain Pain

Post by Summer S »

I haven't come across this subject so far in my trawling.

I have brain pain now. No pain killers touch it. It can last for days, relief is when eating and a little while after, sometimes I can have a nap and it will go away for awhile. Some nights I go to bed early to get away from it but it creeps back in the next morning.

I've been getting it for around 15 years, used to start just before lunch (like I didn't eat fast enough so it punished me) and it would stick around for up to 3 days (usually around period time).

It did go away for a few years, maybe with menopause, but it has come back more and more frequently.

It's a band about eyebrow height, from ear to ear. I'm pretty sure it is gut related.

Anybody have/had anything like that? I tried to tell the GI I didn't like about it, he gave me a prescription for Dexilant. I have not had the prescription filled as it seems to work on heartburn. Apparently I've had a lot of that, but never felt it, so no medications ever taken for it. Besides I want to avoid pharmaceuticals as much as possible as I get too many side affects to tolerate.

Aren't bodies grand? Kinda like technology, it's great when it works...

I used to get something similar when I got dehydrated and/or glutened.

Since correcting magnesium deficiency, I have not had it.
Since using magnesium spray on neck etc for fibro pain I have not had it.

Living in AZ, the capital of kidney stones, I probably fill up my 24oz water bottle 4 times a day, so I don't think it is dehydration.
I have been gluten free for a month or so. So I am perplexed. Will be interesting to see what other intolerances will show and if I go off of them all, how I will feel. Feeling crappy (mostly tired) has been normal for me for so long, I am curious!
I'll have to read more about magnesium, seems to be a lot on here, thanks, Gabes.

A common thing that happens to many here, once you stop one major trigger, ie gluten, you start to feel better and then another item becomes the major trigger and causes symptoms.

I sort of did this roller coaster ride as I did elimination diet, as the gluten antibodies in your body changes, we react to other things.
Dehydration can relate to nutrients/ minerals more so than just water.
Our bodies use a lot of magnesium, potassium, zinc to clear toxins. Inbetween the TGM eating plan, and stopping gluten the cells are working overtime to clear toxins and heal!

Gabes,
OK, putting on my seat belt!
I just want to know what not to eat and get on with it. Stopping the baby spinach salads, felt foul after yesterdays, just had avocado on GF toast and a banana for b'fast. Eating BBQ'd chicken, pork loin, burgers (organic), sweet potato and green beans for dinner.
I'm going to plow through Tex's book tomorrow. Don't know whether I should eat as I was before or eat mild before my InteroLab tests.
So much to think about...
Hugs,
Summer
