I LOVE coconut oil. I cook with it with no negative side effects and use it for moisturizer on my skin and hair and have started giving it to my dogs as well. I have to be careful as I can eat it by the spoonful but it's great stuff in my book!

Oh goodie, Cathy. Where do you buy yours? I'm getting mine through Puritans Pride. Just ordered magnesium oil from them too.
Have you tried 'pulling'? The spoonful with chia seeds sound interesting. I'll cook with it and put it in my smoothies.
Sounds very beneficial.

I get mine at whole foods and get the extra virgin type. I tried oil pulling and just about threw up! I love the taste of it but the texture when swirling it around just did not go so well!

Our old dark Whole foods just got a makeover, I'll check it out when it's not crowded. I was to see if they have coconut yogurt.
Oh, ick, Cathy, I'll try to pull and see how I go.

I use it for cooking and for my skin. At first it felt kind of heavy but now I can't stand to be without it. My daughter coats my grands with it instead of sunscreen. It has a natural sunscreen effect (maybe just a 5 or 10) but they don't burn and get a lot of natural vitamin D. Deb

I read about it being a natural sunscreen too. I think it has an spf of 8. I really love the stuff. My skin is so soft and I coat my hair once a week with it at night and my hair is so shiny!
