I have read in several forums on diarrhea that coconut macaroons work like a charm. Any thoughts?
I would avoid these right now because of the sugar and the eggs. But I do love coconut manna (Nutiva, Artisana) with is just plain pureed whole coconut meat. Delicious!
Is coconut ever a problem for MC'ers? I see coconut oil mentioned frequently as generally safe. I would love to hear that coconut is great for MC. And if it is... I have a wonderful use for it that I would share with the forum.
Thanks!
any truth to the macaroon cure?

Coconut macaroons is what led me to this forum three years ago. My doctor told me that MC is incurable, diet makes no difference, but one of his patients ate coconut macaroons and said they helped. I don't like coconut macaroons, but they are a lot cheaper than Entocort, so off I went to buy them. Much to my surprise, they did help. They did not eliminate the diarrhea, but did seem to help.
I ate macaroons, and set off to Google coconut and diarrhea, and that led me here, and led me to make far more diet changes than just eating macaroons. I don't eat macaroons any more, but do still eat flaked, unsweetened coconut, and I use a lot of coconut oil in my cooking.
