This is what I bought...it is way cheaper 7 oz. for the same price as 1.6 oz. Not sure what qualities would help the skin make more vitamin D? Would the more refined product still have it?

As far as I am aware, the primary differences between the various purity levels relates to quantities of residues such as sweat salts (from the sheep), pesticides, etc. The dihydrocholesterol content should be very similar. I would guess that any odors present in lanolin would probably be due to sweat residues, but that's just a WAEG.
