Swollen ankles

Post by sseven »

Hi,
In the last few days, my ankles have become swollen--not real big but enough that I noticed it just now. I also have not had any BMs for three days and had been fairly regular with small Normans. Last Budesonide tablet I took was September 22. Have been gradually introducing new foods and thought I was doing pretty well. You know, another funny thing has been that I feel cold a lot. Anyone have those symptoms and can give me some idea of what to do?
Thank you so much.

Hi Sharon,

I'm not a doctor, but if I were, I would probably suspect hypothyroidism, and test your thyroid function, since constipation, low body temperature and water retention are all common symptoms of hypothyroidism.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks Tex. in my eyes, you are pretty close to a doctor and a whole lot smarter than MANY of them.

I will call my PCP tomorrow to see about a thyroid check.

Thanks again so much and I will post a follow up.
