So normal, I don't know what is going on….TEX?
Hi ALL I've been wanting to update and also ask opinions. For those of you who remember, radiation really put my remission to the test. About two weeks after I was done with it, my gut calmed down again. Then I started taking Tamoxifen AND i also started using magnesium lotion daily.
For the last month now, I have had the most perfect, formed, painless BMs of my life! I have also been able to eat things I normally could not. I even ate watermelon the other day ( and that would normally send me running to the bathroom within 20 minutes)! I cheated and ate something with butter and…. nothing. I have eaten regular chocolate with soy in it and … nothing. I've had Thai food that I also think had GF soy sauce in it. …. nothing. Tonight, I am testing tomato sauce on GF pasta. We'll see. It usually would give me pain.
I don't know what has made me so much better, but it seems like I am producing enzymes that I wasn't before. Food is just digesting better. ALSO, when I feel my right mid drift area, I use to always have a "hard" area that sometimes even stuck out like a lump ( I'm thin). Now, I only have a tiny area that is more in the middle under my bellybutton and my right side is flat.
What the heck is going on? Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it, but could magnesium make that big of a difference? Can Tamoxifen ( blocks estrogen receptors) have any effect?

I vote for the Magnesium,
in the past month I have had a couple of meals with dairy, soy, gluten, lettuce and various ingredients that I have not ingested for almost 5 years, and had next to no reactions. in my case, getting balance on histamine inflammation, taking the right supplements, (the right amounts of the supplements) and getting my metabolism working alot better has helped alot. This is the best my digestion has been in over 10 years.
wonderful news, hope the wellness continues

Leah,
I have no idea. It could be either one of those, or a combination, because MC responds to hormones, and to magnesium.
But you are right — never look a gift horse in the mouth, and above all — enjoy.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
That's great news!! My vote is on the lack of estrogen, but who knows. Maybe the radiation fried some of the pesky antibody producing lymph nodes? Enjoy the variety in your diet!!

That's wonderful news, Leah. It's also amazing that the radiation and tamoxifen aren't effecting you adversely.
Maybe you have finally reached remission of your MC. I've noticed lately that a little butter, a little stress, perhaps some soy have had NO effect on me. It's been 3 years, off Entocort for several months, strict GF diet and I'm almost normal. Perhaps I've reached remission as well.
Thank you for sharing. It is always interesting to know how we are all doing, who's feeling better, who's not and why.

Leah - I'm glad to hear you're doing so good.
I take magnesium in pill form, but have heard so many say the lotion is better. May I ask what brand you're using? Thank you.
