When you spend months (or years) with D, it is hard to believe that C could be just as bad.
i have had both, and C puts more pressure on various parts of your body like the bladder etc.

my suggestions for MC safe fixes for C
- Oral magnesium, this will will help the muscles, inflammation and have a gentle laxative effect. Start on low dose like 200mg orally and only increase the dose every 3rd or 4th day ie have 200mg for 3-4 days then increase to 300mg, take that for 3-4 days then increase to 400mg and so on. 600mg per day is a baseline RDI per day, 800mg per day starts to assist with any deficiency. If you can handle more per day without getting D, take it! it will help a multitude of things!
- drink more water
- slight increase in oil/fat intake, ie coconut oil or rice bran or other safe oil,
- small peeled apple, eaten slowly. the pectin is good for inflammation
- small amount of pear juice (? watered down) this too is anti inflammatory but will help motility gently. Only have small amount no more than 50ml to start with, wait 24 hours before you try it again.

Keep in mind that most of what is suggested above, will take some time to assist with C (24-48 hours) so have small amounts and give it time to work through. In saying that, if you try the peeled apple or the watered down pear juice, it might cause a change in the BM the first time you have it. Dont disregard it as something that may or may not work until you have had it a few times.

With the magnesium, it will take 8 weeks or more of 800mg per day to correct a deficiency so taking the magnesium may take a while to work to provide long term benefit.
If the C is very uncomfortable in the mean time another suggestion that you could use for a couple of weeks is Lactulose. Start with small amount 5ml-10ml once a day, then wait 48 hours, if no improvement, have 5ml-10ml twice a day, then wait 48 hours, if no improvement go up to 10ml-15ml twice a day.
Lactulose takes 48 hours to work so take it slow and steady with dosage and frequency. once the Poop is less C, dont stop the lactulose, just reduce the dose a bit and have some every 24 -48 hours.

dont try too many things at once...
Start the magnesium, increase the water and the oil/fat see if that improves things
if after a week or so there is no improvement then consider trying the apple or the pear juice.
if they are not suitable, use the lactulose until the Magnesium can start to provide benefit

With the Magnesium, if you do start to have loose stools or D, dont stop the magnesium, just drop the dose by 100mg-200mg.

Hope this helps.
